Experience the Mediterranean Aboard Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas This Summer
Embark on an unforgettable journey with the world’s newest and largest cruise megaship, Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas. Currently sailing the glistening waters of the Western Mediterranean, this magnificent vessel has been captivating thousands of guests since its historic maiden voyage on July 4, 2026.
As the third vessel in Royal Caribbean’s record-breaking Icon Class series, the ship set sail from Civitavecchia — the port of Rome. It offers seven-night itineraries, visiting iconic destinations such as:
- La Spezia
- Marseille
- Barcelona
- Palma de Mallorca
Built at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland and delivered in late June 2026, Legend of the Seas is a colossal LNG-powered vessel. It weighs approximately 250,800 gross tons and can accommodate up to 5,610 passengers at double occupancy — with a maximum capacity of 7,600 guests. The ship is home to an impressive array of onboard features, including the largest waterpark at sea, seven pools, and a record-breaking 28 dining options.
After its Mediterranean debut, the ship is slated to offer weekly European sailings from both Barcelona and Civitavecchia through October 2026. It will then cross the Atlantic for a Caribbean winter season, with its homeport at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Royal Caribbean Group CEO Jason Liberty describes the ship’s launch as “another important milestone” in the line’s ambition to redefine the vacation experience. Demand for inaugural-season cabins is reported to be exceptionally high.
