Anthropic Gears Up for a Monumental $965B IPO as Investor Meetings Kick Off

Artificial intelligence titan, Anthropic, is rapidly gearing up for one of the most eagerly awaited public market debuts in the annals of tech history. Representatives from banking giants like Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and JPMorgan Chase are currently arranging meetings between potential investors and the top brass at Anthropic. This is the most definitive indication yet that the Claude AI creator is on course for an IPO as soon as October 2026.

The pre-roadshow outreach is a follow-up to Anthropic’s confidential S-1 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on June 1, 2026. This comes on the heels of a staggering $65 billion Series H funding round that pegged the company’s valuation at a whopping $965 billion. This briefly eclipsed rival OpenAI’s $852 billion private valuation. At the time of the funding round, Anthropic reported a $47 billion annualized revenue run-rate, with a target of over $50 billion by the end of July 2026.

If all goes as planned, Anthropic, which was established in 2021 by former OpenAI researchers including CEO Dario Amodei, would make history as the first frontier AI lab to go public. This would put them ahead of OpenAI, which also filed a confidential S-1 in May but has hinted at a possible 2027 listing. Anthropic’s success in the enterprise sector, spearheaded by its Claude Code coding assistant, has cemented its position as a formidable player in corporate AI adoption. Investment bankers are now reportedly considering a debut valuation above $1 trillion as the base case.
