Royal Caribbean’s Iconic Legend of the Seas Makes Its Grand Debut in Europe
The most eagerly awaited event in the cruise world has finally arrived. Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas, the third ship in the revolutionary Icon Class fleet, made its official debut in the Western Mediterranean in July 2026, sparking a wave of enthusiasm among cruise enthusiasts across Europe.
This gigantic new ship boasts eight unique neighborhoods and offers more than 40 ways to dine, drink, and be entertained. It offers experiences tailored to every type of traveler, from families with young children to solo adventurers.
In anticipation of its debut, Royal Caribbean organized a special four-night preview sailing for Roald Dahl Nurses, marking a new charitable partnership with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. This collaboration aims to raise crucial funds for the charity’s network of over 250 specialist nurses who care for more than 50,000 seriously ill children and their families across NHS Trusts in the UK. This initiative was timed to coincide with National Children’s Nurses Day on June 30.
Onboard, guests can enjoy the Broadway production of Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” along with fundraising initiatives throughout the inaugural European season. After cruising the Mediterranean this summer, Legend of the Seas will relocate to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in November 2026. It will offer 6-night Western Caribbean and 8-night Southern Caribbean itineraries, including stops at Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas.
The Royal Caribbean Group, voted “Best Cruise Line Overall” for 23 consecutive years by Travel Weekly readers, operates 69 ships across more than 1,000 destinations worldwide.
