TSMC Shatters Records with 68% Revenue Spike, Driven by AI Chip Demand

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the world’s largest contract chipmaker, has reported a staggering 67.9% year-on-year increase in June 2026 revenue, reaching NT$442.68 billion (approximately $13.8 billion USD). This new all-time monthly record was announced on July 13, 2026, and marks a 6.2% increase from the previous month of May, defying the usual seasonal patterns of the past four years.

For the entire first half of 2026, TSMC’s total revenue reached NT$2.4 trillion ($74.99 billion USD), up 35.6% compared to the same period in 2025. Analysts attribute the relentless surge directly to the insatiable global demand for artificial intelligence chips.

Sravan Kundojjala of SemiAnalysis noted that TSMC is virtually sold out on its cutting-edge N3 fabrication node — the process targeted by nearly every leading AI GPU and CPU shipping this year. He estimates the company is on track to generate over $40 billion in AI chip revenue in 2026 alone, representing roughly 25% of its total business.

Notably, NVIDIA is reported to have secured approximately 60% of TSMC’s advanced chip packaging capacity for 2026. With full-year revenue growth guidance set above 30%, and capital expenditure plans of $52–$56 billion, TSMC is also expanding new fabrication plants in Arizona, Japan, and Germany to keep pace with demand.

The company’s full Q2 earnings report is scheduled for July 16, 2026.
