Countdown to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026: The World’s Largest Aviation Celebration Begins in 9 Days
The world’s largest aviation celebration, EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026, is almost upon us. Starting on July 20 and running through July 26, the event will take place at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The general aviation community is buzzing with anticipation as the 73rd edition of the event, themed “Celebrating the Freedom of Flight”, aligns with America’s 250th birthday celebrations.
In 2025, the event set a record with 704,000 visitors from 94 nations. The organizers are optimistic about matching or even surpassing this figure in 2026. Over 10,000 aircraft, powered by more than 6,000 volunteers, are expected to descend on Oshkosh. The event contributed a whopping $257 million to the region’s economy in 2025.
Confirmed highlights for 2026 include:
- Performances by the Royal Air Force Red Arrows
- A flyover of NASA’s iconic Super Guppy
- Appearances by WWII warbirds including the B-29 Superfortress Doc and the B-24 Diamond Lil
- A special concert by country star Tyler Hubbard
Youth attendees aged 18 and under will be admitted free of charge, thanks to the support of The Boeing Company, in a bid to inspire the next generation of aviators. To enhance the visitor experience, a new free companion app, AWEROK, designed by a pilot, offers a live GPS map and personalized event schedule.
