Meta Breaks New Ground with $299 AI Smart Glasses

Meta has officially made its debut in the smart glasses market with its own brand, launching the new Meta Glasses lineup. With a starting price of just $299, this is a notable markdown from the $379 entry price of its existing Ray-Ban Meta models. The announcement came on June 23, 2026, in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica. The new glasses are available in three styles: the Meta Adventurer, the Meta Fury, and a special edition Meta Glasses by Kylie, designed in partnership with Kylie Jenner, priced at $399.

The new lineup completely abandons the Ray-Ban and Oakley branding, giving Meta direct control over its product identity and pricing for the first time. These glasses are equipped with a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, 3K video recording, open-ear speakers, a five-microphone array, and boast over eight hours of battery life. They are powered by Muse Spark, Meta’s new on-device AI model, which supports voice queries, visual object identification, and real-time translation in 20 languages.

The timing of this release is strategic. According to IDC, smart glasses without displays saw a 167% year-over-year surge in Q1 2026. Meta currently holds approximately 69% of the global AI glasses market. CEO Mark Zuckerberg described the launch as a move towards making “powerful AI accessible to a lot more people.” The glasses are now available for purchase at Meta.com, Amazon, Best Buy, LensCrafters, and Sunglass Hut across the US, Canada, UK, and select European markets.
