Amorepacific Introduces Groundbreaking 20nm Nano-Delivery Skincare Technology

South Korean beauty powerhouse, Amorepacific, has made a significant scientific advancement with the inception of a next-generation nano-delivery technology. This revolutionary development has the potential to redefine how active ingredients infiltrate the skin.

Working in partnership with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Amorepacific has developed an ultra-compact 20-nanometer delivery system, named ‘Lipo3Ex’. This system is notably smaller and more stable than traditional cosmetic carriers. The pioneering research was highlighted as the cover article in the May 2026 issue of the esteemed scientific journal ACS Nano.

The cutting-edge technology employs plant-derived triterpenoids to construct lipid-based carriers. These carriers maintain structural stability against temperature and pH fluctuations, overcoming a challenge that has historically hindered ultra-small cosmetic delivery systems. Human skin trials have shown that this technology delivers active ingredients more uniformly and effectively across the skin compared to conventional methods.

The Lipo3Ex technology is currently being incorporated into products from Amorepacific’s IOPE and Primera brands. This marks a substantial progression in science-backed skincare efficacy. This advancement aligns with the company’s wider focus on longevity science and precision ingredient delivery.
