Virgin Voyages Sets Sail for First Alaska Season with Brilliant Lady

On May 21, 2026, Virgin Voyages proudly launched its inaugural Alaska cruise season, signifying a major milestone. The adults-only cruise line introduced the Brilliant Lady from Seattle, offering weekly sailings through September.

The 110,000-gross-ton vessel can accommodate up to 2,700 passengers. It offers 17 immersive voyages that range from seven to 12 nights. The destinations include:

  • Ketchikan
  • Sitka
  • Juneau
  • Hubbard Glacier
  • Tracy Arm Fjord

This expansion marks Virgin Voyages’ most significant West Coast presence since its 2021 launch, moving beyond its Caribbean-centric operations.

What distinguishes these Alaska cruises is Virgin Voyages’ dedication to destination immersion and cultural authenticity. The cruise line has partnered with Alaska Native Voices to feature Indigenous Cultural Heritage Guides. These guides lead workshops on:

  • Contemporary Indigenous perspectives
  • Art
  • Language
  • Traditions

Moreover, over 50% of shore excursions are certified by sustainable tourism providers, including Adventure Green Alaska and Travelife.

The ship boasts design elements optimized for Alaska’s breathtaking landscapes. These include 86% of cabins with private balconies equipped with hand-woven hammocks, panoramic glass walls in the Athletic Club, and floor-to-ceiling windows throughout The Galley food hall. Travel advisors earn a competitive 16% commission with zero non-commissionable fares on all bookings.
