Malaysia Welcomes the World’s First ATR 72-600 with HighLine All-Business Class Cabin
Malaysian airline Berjaya Air has proudly taken delivery of the world’s first ATR 72-600 equipped with the revolutionary HighLine all-business class cabin. This marks a significant milestone in the realm of regional aviation.
The aircraft made its grand arrival in Kuala Lumpur on May 20, 2026. It boasts an exclusive 1-by-1 layout with just 26 seats. Each passenger is treated to direct aisle access and panoramic window views, courtesy of the ETEREA seats by Geven—the widest seats ever installed on an ATR platform.
One of the standout features of this aircraft is the executive-style ceiling. Traditional overhead bins have been replaced with sleek valence panels, flooding the cabin with natural light. This creates a sense of volume that rivals the world’s largest private jets.
The ATR HighLine configuration has received certification from both the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Malaysian authorities earlier this month. Berjaya Air is set to begin operating the aircraft within days. It will launch service on a new Subang-Koh Samui route, with plans for expanded regional connections throughout Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
Syed Ali Shahul Hameed, Group CEO of Berjaya Property Berhad, expressed his enthusiasm for the delivery. He stated that it “enables us to offer guests a seamless and refined journey to some of the region’s most sought-after destinations.” A second HighLine-configured ATR 72-600 is expected to join the fleet in the third quarter of 2026.
