Introducing Kerativ: Science-Backed Haircare by Dermatologist Dr. Joyce Park

Seattle-based dermatologist Dr. Joyce Park, recognized by her 1.2 million social media followers as @teawithmd, has made her debut in the haircare industry with Kerativ. This innovative, scalp-first brand addresses the escalating issue of hair loss and thinning.

The launch of Kerativ in May 2026 is timely, as dermatologists are reporting a surge in hair shedding cases. These are linked to post-Covid recovery, hormonal changes, stress, and notably, GLP-1 medication use which can lead to nutrient deficiencies impacting hair health.

Kerativ introduces two clinically validated products to the market: the $44 Redensify Reset Shampoo and the $65 Treatment Serum. The serum boasts a pioneering formula that combines 1% Kopexil for enhanced hair density, adapinoid (a retinoid derivative) to rejuvenate the scalp, and 3% Redensyl—ingredients that have not been paired with retinol before, thereby boosting their benefits, as stated by formulation expert Allen Sha.

Clinical studies reveal that the serum not only increases hair density and volume within three months but also reduces shedding and soothes the scalp. The formula is non-greasy and absorbs quickly, addressing a common issue Dr. Park encountered from patients dissatisfied with traditional minoxidil treatments.

“I aimed to develop a science-backed, scalp-first haircare brand that employs clinically validated ingredients in a regimen that’s straightforward for patients to use, without compromising on user experience or efficacy,” explained Dr. Park. The brand is entirely self-funded and available direct-to-consumer, reflecting the broader 2026 trend of scalp health becoming as crucial to beauty routines as facial skincare.
