Anthropic Unveils Claude Opus 4.7: A Major Leap in AI Capabilities
Anthropic, a leading AI research company, has proudly announced the launch of Claude Opus 4.7 on April 16, 2026. This significant upgrade to their flagship AI model brings substantial enhancements in software engineering, vision capabilities, and autonomous task handling.
The newly released model showcases remarkable advancements in handling complex, long-term coding tasks. It also boasts over 3x higher resolution image processing compared to its predecessor. Claude Opus 4.7 supports a 1 million token context window and debuts a novel “adaptive thinking” mode that dynamically allocates computational resources based on task complexity.
Impressively, the model achieved benchmark results of 87.6% on SWE-bench Verified and 94.2% on GPQA. Anthropic hails it as “our most capable generally available model to date.” The release also includes new cyber safeguards that automatically detect and block prohibited or high-risk cybersecurity uses, a response to concerns raised by the company’s more powerful but restricted Claude Mythos model.
Effective immediately, Claude Opus 4.7 is available across Claude products, the Anthropic API, Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud’s Vertex AI, and Microsoft Foundry. The pricing remains at $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens.
