Introducing iPhone 17e: Apple’s New $599 Budget Phone with MagSafe & Enhanced Storage

Apple has unveiled the iPhone 17e, an impressive yet budget-friendly addition to its smartphone range. This new offering targets cost-conscious consumers, without sacrificing any essential features.

The iPhone 17e boasts a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with Ceramic Shield 2, providing three times the scratch resistance of its predecessor. At its core, the device is powered by Apple’s 3nm A19 chip, delivering top-tier performance at a more affordable price.

One of the standout upgrades is the integration of MagSafe technology. This feature facilitates fast wireless charging and ensures compatibility with a wide array of MagSafe accessories. The camera system comprises a 48MP Fusion camera, capable of capturing breathtaking photos and 4K Dolby Vision video, complemented by an optical-quality 2x Telephoto feature.

Apple has generously doubled the base storage to 256GB, with a starting price of just $599. This matches the price of the previous model while offering significantly more storage space. The phone is available in three sophisticated colors, each with a premium matte finish: black, white, and a new soft pink.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 17e kick off on Wednesday, March 4, with availability commencing Wednesday, March 11, 2026. The device also incorporates Apple’s innovative satellite features for Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages, and Find My services when outside cellular and Wi-Fi coverage.
