L’Oréal Unveils Revolutionary Light Technology for Beauty Care at CES 2026

L’Oréal Groupe made a significant impact at CES 2026 with the unveiling of two groundbreaking beauty technologies. These innovative solutions harness the power of infrared and LED light for hair and skin care. The Light Straight + Multi-styler and LED Face Mask were both recognized as CES 2026 Innovation Award Honorees.

The Light Straight + Multi-styler is a response to a critical consumer concern. A 2024 L’Oréal consumer study revealed that 58% of women surveyed attributed their damaged hair to heat. This revolutionary device uses patented infrared light technology to straighten, curl, and style hair at temperatures under 320°F. This is significantly lower than traditional straighteners that can reach 400°F or higher. The technology reshapes internal hydrogen bonds while preserving hair cuticle health. The results are reportedly three times faster and leave hair two times smoother than leading premium hair stylers.

The LED Face Mask, currently in prototype form and developed in partnership with I-Smart Developments, delivers targeted red light (630 nm) and near-infrared light (830 nm) through an ultra-thin, flexible silicone design. The mask is designed to combat visible signs of aging like fine lines, sagging, and uneven tone through 10-minute automated sessions.

“This year, our pioneering advancements in light technologies at CES 2026 once again demonstrate our commitment to pushing the boundaries of new beauty solutions,” said Barbara Lavernos, Deputy CEO in charge of Research, Innovation and Technology at L’Oréal Groupe.

The Light Straight + Multi-styler is expected to launch globally in 2027, with the LED Face Mask also anticipated for the same year.
