Tourism Ireland and Trip.com Join Forces to Amplify Global Presence
Tourism Ireland has entered into a strategic alliance with Trip.com Group, a global pioneer in online travel services, to bolster its international footprint. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked in Shanghai, China, in January 2026 during Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Micheál Martin’s official visit, marking a significant stride in attracting global visitors to Ireland.
This collaboration aims to harness Trip.com’s extensive reach across 50 countries and regions globally, with a special emphasis on luring long-haul travellers and burgeoning markets in Asia. China, with its thriving outbound travel sector, is a crucial growth zone for Ireland’s tourism industry. The partnership coincides perfectly with the commencement of direct flight routes like Hainan Airlines between Beijing and Dublin, providing an optimal platform to entice more Chinese tourists to choose Ireland as their next travel destination.
As part of the agreement, Tourism Ireland and Trip.com will collaborate closely on digital marketing strategies, employing social media, videos, and blogs to highlight Ireland’s rich heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and dynamic cultural offerings. The partnership also facilitates the exchange of valuable consumer insights that will aid Tourism Ireland in refining future campaigns. With data-driven marketing and state-of-the-art technologies, Ireland is poised to captivate millions of new visitors and accomplish its ambitious 2026 tourism objectives.
