Siemens & NVIDIA Collaborate to Develop an Industrial AI Operating System
At the CES 2026 event in Las Vegas, Siemens and NVIDIA unveiled a significant expansion of their strategic alliance. Their goal? To create an “Industrial AI Operating System”—a platform set to revolutionize manufacturing via artificial intelligence and digital twin technology.
This broadened collaboration was announced during keynotes by Siemens CEO Roland Busch and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang. The partnership aims to revolutionize the entire industrial value chain, from design and engineering to manufacturing, production, operations, and supply chains. As Huang stated, “Generative AI and accelerated computing have ignited a new industrial revolution, transforming digital twins from passive simulations into the active intelligence of the physical world.”
By 2026, the companies plan to launch the world’s first fully AI-driven, adaptive manufacturing site at the Siemens Electronics Factory in Erlangen, Germany. This facility will utilize an “AI brain” powered by software-defined automation, NVIDIA Omniverse libraries, and AI infrastructure. This will enable factories to continuously analyze digital twins, virtually test improvements, and implement validated changes on the shop floor in real-time.
Major corporations, including Foxconn, HD Hyundai, KION Group, and PepsiCo, are already assessing elements of this groundbreaking technology. NVIDIA will provide AI infrastructure, simulation libraries, and frameworks. Simultaneously, Siemens will commit hundreds of industrial AI experts and leading hardware and software capabilities to expedite AI-driven industrial transformation on a global scale.
