Snow crews have been working tirelessly to keep runways clear. Aircraft undergo meticulous de-icing procedures to ensure safe operations. The British Met Office forecasted continued snowfall for January 7, with conditions expected to ease on January 8.
KLM confirmed efforts to secure additional supplies of de-icing fluid, a critical constraint during the extended winter weather period. The airline reported using approximately 85,000 liters of de-icing fluid to keep aircraft operational during the crisis. Passengers booked on flights through January 12, 2026, are being offered rebooking and refund options.
