Van’s Aircraft Commences Shipping of Inaugural RV-15 Wing Kits
On December 23, 2025, Van’s Aircraft achieved a noteworthy milestone with the delivery of the first two RV-15 wing kits to customers. This event marked the onset of production for the company’s premier high-wing design. The fortunate recipients of these kits were Kevin Eldredge, a triumphant Reno air racer who was first in queue at EAA AirVenture 2025, and Spanky Melton.
According to the Oregon-based kit aircraft manufacturer, deliveries are set to gain momentum in January 2026, with wing kits being dispatched continuously throughout the month. The RV-15 signifies a substantial advancement in buildability, boasting pre-punched and pre-dimpled aluminum components that considerably cut down on construction time. A unique ceremony was held where Van’s employees signed the first shipping crate before the kits were prepared for transport.
The RV-15, designed specifically for backcountry operations and equipped with “Total Performance” capabilities, seamlessly blends low stall speeds for short-field usage with cruise speeds reaching up to 140 knots. Sales of tail kits are slated for late January 2026, with deliveries anticipated around March. The company has reported that the sales of the RV-15 wing kits have surpassed expectations. This milestone arrives as Van’s is on the path of recovery post its emergence from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May 2024, having successfully delivered approximately 1,200 kits globally in 2025.
