Amazon’s Alexa+ and Expedia Join Forces for Voice-Activated Travel Bookings in 2026
Travel planning is set to become significantly simpler. Amazon has unveiled plans for Expedia to integrate with its advanced AI assistant, Alexa+, from 2026. This collaboration will empower travelers to search, compare, book, and manage hotel and vacation rental reservations using straightforward voice commands.
Users will be able to engage in natural dialogues with Alexa about their travel requirements, posing queries such as “Find me pet-friendly hotels for a weekend in Chicago” or inquiring about boutique hotels in Rome under $200 per night. Alexa will respond with personalized suggestions based on preferences for location, room type, and price, and can finalize bookings without users needing to navigate websites or apps.
This announcement is part of Amazon’s wider strategy to evolve Alexa+ into a comprehensive service platform. Alongside Expedia, Yelp, Angi, and Square are also set to integrate with the AI assistant in 2026. This development signifies Expedia’s ongoing commitment to AI-powered travel solutions, following recent collaborations with Google, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and Perplexity.
“Every new integration we add brings Alexa+ closer to handling more of life’s everyday tasks,” said Daniel Rausch, Amazon’s vice president of Alexa and Echo.
