Travel + Leisure recently announced its 2025 World’s Best Awards, with Santa Fe, New Mexico clinching the title of Best U.S. City for the first time in 12 years. This annual readers’ survey, now marking its 30th year, mirrors the current travel trends.

The awards highlight destinations that embody travelers’ yearning for depth, character, and a strong sense of place. This sentiment was echoed by Travel + Leisure Editor in Chief, Jacqui Gifford.
