Supergoop! Appoints Melis del Rey as CEO Amid Plans for Global Expansion

Sunscreen pioneer, Supergoop!, has announced the appointment of Melis del Rey as its new CEO and Board Director, effective from December 8, 2024. Del Rey, with her extensive background as the General Manager of Amazon U.S. Health and Beauty, brings over two decades of experience to the table in the global beauty and consumer products industry.

During her tenure at Amazon, Del Rey transformed the platform from a replenishment-driven channel into a leading beauty destination. This attracted major prestige brands such as L’Oréal Luxe and the Estée Lauder Companies. Her innovative approach to brand building, coupled with her deep expertise in e-commerce and omnichannel strategy, make her an ideal fit to spearhead Supergoop’s next phase of growth.

“Supergoop is one of those rare brands that defines a category rather than simply participating in it,” said del Rey in an interview. “The brand’s commitment to innovation, education, and joyful sun protection has already transformed how people think about SPF.”

Gregory Polcer, who has been serving as interim CEO since May, will continue his role as a Board Director during the transition period.

The announcement of Del Rey’s appointment comes as Charlotte Tilbury extends its partnership with Puig, indicating continued momentum in the beauty executive leadership space.
