Piper Aircraft’s M700 FURY Turboprop Secures UK Certification
Piper Aircraft announced on December 17, 2024, that it has received type certification from the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) for its M700 FURY single-engine turboprop. This certification expands the aircraft’s operational reach into the UK and European markets, where it will be sold and supported by British European Aviation (BEA).
The M700 FURY, which received FAA certification in March 2024, is powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-52 engine and features a maximum cruise speed of 300 knots, making it the fastest single-engine aircraft in Piper’s lineup. The six-seat turboprop comes standard with Garmin’s revolutionary HALO Safety System, which includes Emergency Autoland technology that can safely land the aircraft at the nearest suitable airport if the pilot becomes incapacitated.
British European Aviation, headquartered at Wycombe Air Park, will serve as the exclusive sales and support partner for the M700 FURY in the UK market. BEA specializes in:
- New and pre-owned aircraft sales
- Maintenance
- Pilot training services
Bringing decades of general aviation experience to support Piper’s expansion. Piper Aircraft, based in Vero Beach, Florida, was the first general aviation manufacturer worldwide to certify Garmin’s Emergency Autoland system.
The M700 FURY represents the latest addition to Piper’s M-Class series, which includes the M500 and M350 models, offering businesses and individuals what the company describes as “elegant performance, value and a superior ownership experience.”
