Gulfstream G800: The Record-Breaking Jet’s Journey to Dubai Airshow
The ultra-long-range G800 business jet from Gulfstream Aerospace has once again proven its exceptional performance capabilities. The newly certified jet has set its eighth city-pair speed record, completing a flight from Phuket, Thailand, to Dubai in a mere 5 hours and 38 minutes. This impressive 2,962-nautical-mile journey was undertaken en route to the Dubai Airshow 2025, just months after the aircraft entered service in August 2024.
This latest feat adds to Gulfstream’s impressive tally of city-pair speed records, which now stands at over 760 across its entire fleet. This achievement further cements Gulfstream’s position as a leader in high-speed, long-distance business aviation.
Among the G800’s other notable records are:
- Miami to Riyadh in 12 hours and 33 minutes
- Florence to Savannah in 9 hours and 33 minutes
The G800 is the longest-range aircraft in Gulfstream’s fleet, capable of flying 8,200 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 or 7,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.90. Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream, emphasized that setting eight speed records so shortly after its entry into service is a testament to the aircraft’s extraordinary capabilities and the growing market demand.
