Record-Breaking $31.2B in Aircraft Deliveries for General Aviation Industry in 2024
The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) reported a significant growth in aircraft deliveries during 2024, with total values reaching a staggering $31.2 billion—a 13.3% increase from the previous year. These findings were presented at GAMA’s annual State of the Industry conference, highlighting robust performance across nearly all aircraft segments.
For the first time in a decade, the industry exceeded $30 billion in annual billings while shipping more than 4,000 units for the second consecutive year. Airplane shipments showed strong performance with the following breakdown:
- Piston aircraft increasing 4.2% to 1,772 units,
- Turboprops declining slightly by 1.9% to 626 units,
- Business jets growing 4.7% to 764 units.
The value of airplane deliveries reached $26.7 billion, representing a 14.3% increase.
GAMA President and CEO Pete Bunce emphasized the industry’s momentum heading into 2025, while noting the importance of supportive policies from regulators. The International Aircraft Dealers Association welcomed the delivery increases, noting their positive impact on the preowned business aircraft market as most new aircraft buyers also have aircraft to sell, driving healthy market turnover.
