Gulfstream G800 Shatters Eighth Speed Record on Journey to Dubai Airshow
Gulfstream Aerospace recently announced a significant achievement for its ultra-long-range G800. The newly certified jet set its eighth city-pair speed record en route to the Dubai Airshow 2025. The impressive journey from Phuket, Thailand to Dubai, UAE was completed in a mere 5 hours and 38 minutes. This feat further cements the G800’s status as the world’s longest-range business jet.
The G800’s latest record contributes to Gulfstream’s impressive tally of over 760 city-pair speed records across its entire fleet. The G800 stands out with its ability to traverse 8,200 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 or 7,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.90. This makes it the longest-range aircraft in Gulfstream’s lineup.
- Previous G800 records include a Miami to Riyadh flight completed in 12 hours 33 minutes.
- The Florence to Savannah journey was achieved in 9 hours 33 minutes.
Mark Burns, Gulfstream’s president, expressed his enthusiasm over the G800’s performance. He emphasized that setting eight speed records so quickly after the aircraft’s August 2024 entry into service is a testament to the overwhelming interest and demand for the G800.
The G800 is equipped with advanced Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines and offers a comfortable cabin altitude of just 2,840 feet when cruising at 41,000 feet.
