Record-Breaking US Holiday Travel: 40M Anticipated This Season

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is gearing up for an unprecedented holiday season, with an estimated 40 million travelers to be screened from December 19, 2025, to January 2, 2025. This represents a significant 6.2% increase compared to the previous year.

December 1 has already set a new TSA record, with over 3 million passengers screened in a single day. The peak travel days are projected to be December 20, December 27, and December 30.

On the international front, visitor arrivals to the United States totaled 6.46 million in December 2024, marking a 9.5% increase from December 2023. The total arrivals for 2024 reached 72.39 million, which is 91% of the 2019 levels. This surge is a testament to the robust post-pandemic travel demand, despite economic challenges.
