Qantas Unveils 400,000 Reward Seats with Innovative ‘Points Planes’ Program
Qantas Frequent Flyer has unveiled 400,000 new Classic Reward seats across its international and domestic network, marking a significant shift in how Australians can leverage their loyalty points for premium travel experiences. This major expansion includes the innovative ‘Points Planes’, where every seat across all cabins can be exclusively secured with points.
The extensive seat release encompasses flagship destinations such as Paris in November 2025, Los Angeles in February 2026, and Tokyo in May/June 2026. Additionally, popular Australian destinations like Hamilton Island and Cairns are also included.
- The program offers nearly 25,000 seats to Paris and Los Angeles on Qantas flights
- More than 40,000 seats on Points Planes to Japan and Singapore via Jetstar
- Nearly 135,000 seats at the new lowest redemption rate
A key highlight of the program is the introduction of Australia’s lowest year-round Economy reward seat. Jetstar domestic flights in Australia and New Zealand are now available from just 5,700 points one-way, down from 6,400 points. This is part of Qantas’ broader strategy to enhance member value, following recent changes that boosted domestic flight point earnings by up to 25 percent and unlocked over 4 billion additional points annually for members.
The new release complements the existing 20 million reward seats available across Qantas, Jetstar, and 45 partner airlines.
