Gulfstream G700 Shatters 65 City-Pair Speed Records Fueled by Sustainability
Gulfstream Aerospace’s flagship G700 ultra-large cabin business jet has shattered over 65 city-pair speed records during a global demonstration tour. The most recent of these record-breaking flights was a journey from Savannah to Honolulu. This trip was made using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and covered a distance of 4,090 nautical miles in a mere 8 hours and 52 minutes, maintaining an average speed of Mach 0.90.
“Gulfstream continues to see remarkable interest in the G700 around the world,” said Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream. “The G700 is unmatched in performing these record-setting flights and illustrates its unique combination of speed, range and cabin size.”
Moreover, the aircraft also set a speed record traveling 6,507 nautical miles from Los Angeles to Sydney in just 14 hours and 26 minutes. These records are currently pending approval by the U.S. National Aeronautic Association and the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale. The G700 boasts the ability to fly up to 7,750 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 and features a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.935.
