Gulfstream G800 Achieves Eighth Speed Record on Its Way to Dubai Airshow

Gulfstream Aerospace’s newly certified G800 business jet has set its eighth city-pair speed record. The jet flew from Phuket, Thailand, to Dubai in a mere 5 hours and 38 minutes while en route to the Dubai Airshow 2025. The ultra-long-range aircraft, which received FAA and EASA certification in April 2025 and began deliveries in August, continues to showcase its remarkable capabilities.

Previous G800 speed records include:

  • Miami to Riyadh in 12 hours 33 minutes
  • Florence, Italy, to Savannah, Georgia, in 9 hours 33 minutes

This latest achievement brings the total city-pair speed records for the entire Gulfstream fleet to over 760. Mark Burns, President of Gulfstream, expressed his pride in the G800’s performance. “Setting eight speed records this quickly following its August entry into service is a testament to the capabilities of this aircraft,” he said.

The G800 can travel 8,200 nautical miles at its long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.85 and boasts a maximum speed of Mach 0.935. Powered by Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, the aircraft offers advanced cabin features. These include 16 panoramic oval windows and a cabin altitude of just 2,840 feet when flying at 41,000 feet.

Gulfstream has already delivered three G800s to the Middle East market and has additional orders in the region.
