Disney Treasure Sets Sail for Historic Inaugural Caribbean Voyage in Jamaica

Disney Cruise Line’s latest marvel, the Disney Treasure, etched its name in history books as it embarked on its inaugural Caribbean journey to Falmouth, Jamaica on December 5, 2024. This momentous occasion was shared with Royal Caribbean’s Celebrity Ascent in an exceptional double inauguration event. The colossal 144,256-ton vessel, which set sail on its maiden voyage on December 21, 2024, brought an astounding 7,000 passengers to the historic port in a single day – a significant milestone for Jamaica’s cruise tourism season.

Jamaica’s Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett, lauded this achievement, highlighting that the 2024/2025 cruise season has kicked off “with a bang”. Since the start of the year, the country has welcomed over 1.1 million cruise passengers. The Disney Treasure, a sibling to the Disney Wish, offers adventure-themed experiences inspired by Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel properties. It also features an innovative AquaMouse water coaster named “Curse of the Golden Egg.”

The ship’s inaugural season comprises year-round seven-night voyages to Eastern and Western Caribbean destinations from Port Canaveral, Florida. Regular stops include Disney’s private island Castaway Cay and popular Caribbean ports. It’s worth noting that Jamaica was recently crowned World’s Leading Cruise Destination 2024 by the World Travel Awards.
