Piper Aircraft Attains Renowned AS9100 Aerospace Certification
Vero Beach-based aircraft manufacturer Piper Aircraft has reached a significant milestone by achieving AS9100 Rev D certification on November 13, 2024. The internationally recognized aerospace quality management system standard was awarded by Dekra Certification, Inc., marking a major advancement for the company’s 88-year legacy in general aviation.
The certification not only enhances Piper’s manufacturing excellence but also bolsters its new subsidiary, Piper Industrial Manufacturing Company (PIMCO), which specializes in premium manufacturing solutions for the aerospace and defense sectors. “The AS9100 certification elevates quality across Piper Aircraft, creating a strong foundation for continuous improvement,” said Stuart McSorley, Senior Director of Production Compliance & Oversight.
This achievement positions Piper to compete in broader aerospace markets and establishes new partnership opportunities worldwide. The certification covers all aircraft design and manufacturing operations at the company’s Vero Beach, Florida facility.
