Samsung Galaxy Tri-Fold Set to Debut at APEC Summit
Samsung’s highly anticipated tri-fold smartphone is reportedly set to make its public debut at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit on October 31-November 1, marking a significant milestone in foldable phone innovation.
Multiple industry sources confirm that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy G Fold (or Galaxy Trifold) at the international summit in South Korea. However, it’s expected that the device will be displayed under glass, rather than being available for hands-on demonstrations. The tri-fold features a revolutionary three-panel design with dual hinges that fold inward, creating a G-shaped configuration.
Early reports suggest the device will initially launch in South Korea and China with a limited production of approximately 300,000 units for the first run. Pricing is expected to range from $2,500 to $3,500, positioning it as a premium technology showcase rather than a mass-market product.
The timing follows Samsung’s successful Galaxy Z Fold 7 launch, which saw 50% higher initial sales than its predecessor. Industry experts view this as Samsung’s response to growing competition in the foldable market, particularly from Huawei’s existing tri-fold Mate XT.
