Samsung Set to Unveil Revolutionary Tri-Fold Phone at Prestigious APEC Summit
Samsung Electronics is gearing up to present its highly anticipated, first-ever tri-fold smartphone at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. This significant event is set to take place in South Korea from October 31 to November 1, 2025.
The groundbreaking device boasts two hinges, enabling it to serve dual purposes. It can function as a conventional smartphone, and when fully unfurled, it transforms into a significantly larger tablet. As reported by Bloomberg, the device will be exhibited at a state-of-the-art Korean technology exhibition. This exhibition is a part of the multilateral summit, a gathering place for world leaders and global dignitaries.
This strategic debut is more than just a product launch. It symbolizes Samsung’s technological prowess on the global stage. The tri-fold phone is projected to have a limited initial production run of merely 50,000 units. Rumors suggest a premium price point around $3,000.
Industry analysts perceive this device as Samsung’s attempt to stimulate new demand in the stagnant global smartphone market. At the same time, it aims to maintain its competitive edge in the foldable phone segment.
Following the APEC showcase, Samsung plans to officially launch the phone “as early as November.” Full retail availability in South Korea is expected soon after. This device marks a significant evolution from Samsung’s existing Galaxy Z Fold series. It could potentially aid the company’s Mobile Experience division in regaining momentum in the competitive foldable market.
