Article Title: General Aviation Soars with Record $30+ Billion in Aircraft Deliveries

The general aviation industry achieved a historic milestone in 2024, with aircraft shipments and billing surpassing $30 billion for the first time in a decade, according to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA). The achievement marks the second consecutive year that manufacturers delivered more than 4,000 aircraft units.

Business jet deliveries increased 4.7% to 764 units, while piston airplane shipments rose 4.2% with 1,772 units delivered. The total value of airplane deliveries reached $26.7 billion, representing a significant 14.3% increase from the previous year. Turboprop deliveries declined slightly by 2.9% to 626 units, but overall industry performance remained robust.

Notable success stories included CubCrafters, which posted the largest percentage increases among piston manufacturers with 26% growth in shipments and 29% increase in billing, delivering 87 aircraft worth just under $38 million. Piper Aircraft also enjoyed strong performance, particularly with its flagship M700 Fury, delivering 46 units in the aircraft’s first year of service.

“This strong performance provides great momentum into 2025, but it is essential that policymakers and regulators recognize that for continued growth, they must work with industry on policy issues such as taxes, trade, regulations and supply chain,” said Pete Bunce, GAMA President and CEO.

The helicopter segment also showed positive growth, with total shipments rising to 956 units from 952 in 2023, valued at $4.5 billion.
