Costco Offers 50% Discount on Weight Loss Medications for Uninsured Customers
Major retail giant, Costco, is now offering popular weight loss medications like Wegovy and Ozempic at dramatically reduced prices for customers without insurance coverage. The warehouse club is selling a month’s supply (four injectable pens) for $499, representing approximately half the typical out-of-pocket cost.
This pricing partnership with pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk comes as demand for GLP-1 weight loss drugs continues to surge nationwide. Costco Executive Members and Chase Citibank credit card holders can earn additional cash back rewards through their respective programs, further reducing the effective cost.
Meanwhile, Sam’s Club has announced a similar initiative, offering the same medications for $499 per month through Novo Nordisk co-pay cards. The move addresses growing accessibility concerns, as these medications are often not covered by insurance plans despite their proven effectiveness for weight management.
