Norovirus Outbreak on Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship Affects 98 Individuals

A norovirus outbreak on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship has sickened nearly 100 people, reports the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The health agency confirms that 94 passengers and 4 crew members experienced illness during the voyage. The predominant symptoms included diarrhea and vomiting.

In response to the outbreak, Royal Caribbean has swiftly implemented enhanced cleaning protocols. These include increased cleaning and disinfection procedures throughout the affected vessel. The cruise line is working closely with health authorities to contain the situation and prevent further spread.

Despite this setback, the cruise industry continues to show strong performance in 2025. This incident comes as Royal Caribbean expands its offerings. These include Halloween activities on all October cruises and the introduction of a two-story casino on the upcoming Legend of the Seas. The cruise line is also promoting its Presidents Cruise as a premium experience for cruise enthusiasts.
