Introducing ‘Skylar’: Skyryse’s Revolutionary AI Flight Assistant for General Aviation
Skyryse has unveiled Skylar, a game-changing AI flight assistant engineered to revolutionize general aviation safety and operations. This system seamlessly integrates with Skyryse’s SkyOS universal operating system, offering pilots real-time assistance throughout all flight phases.
Acting as an ever-present copilot, Skylar interprets air traffic control communications, transcribes them in real-time, and suggests fitting responses. The AI assistant is capable of:
- Automatically tuning radios
- Entering flight instructions
- Monitoring traffic through ADS-B
- Building optimized flight plans
- Calculating fuel burn based on weather conditions
“We’re ushering aviation into the 21st century,” stated Mark Groden, Skyryse CEO. “For years, we’ve harnessed AI to communicate with our homes and cars. Now, we’ll use it to converse with our aircraft.”
This technology aims to tackle the issue of human error, which the FAA reports plays a part in as many as 80% of aviation incidents. Skyryse plans to showcase Skylar at the NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas, running from October 14-16, 2025.
The company boasts partnerships with esteemed organizations such as Air Methods, CAL FIRE, and the US Army. To date, it has raised over $300 million from investors.
