Anthropic Set to Triple Global Workforce Amidst Major AI Expansion

Anthropic, a leading name in the AI industry, announced on Friday its ambitious plans for a major international expansion. The company aims to triple its global workforce and increase its applied AI team fivefold throughout 2025. This aggressive growth strategy comes in response to a surge in international demand, with nearly 80% of Claude AI usage now originating outside the United States.

The $183 billion company has experienced explosive growth, expanding its customer base from under 1,000 business customers to over 300,000 in just two years. In the same period, revenue has skyrocketed from $87 million at the start of 2024 to over $5 billion annually.

Countries like South Korea, Australia, and Singapore show higher per-person usage rates than the U.S., driving the international focus. In light of this, Anthropic plans to establish its first Asian office in Tokyo and create over 100 new positions across Dublin, London, and Zurich.

The company is also on the hunt for country leads for India, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, and Singapore, as it continues its expansion throughout Europe.

This expansion is spearheaded by the new Managing Director of International, Chris Ciauri, formerly of Google Cloud and Salesforce. Ciauri has a proven track record in the industry, having helped grow EMEA revenue from $200 million to over $3 billion.
