FDA Introduces Innovative Real-Time Dashboard for Cosmetic Safety Data

The FDA has unveiled an innovative real-time dashboard for cosmetic safety data, marking a pivotal move towards enhanced transparency in the beauty industry. The dashboard, which was announced on September 12, 2025, offers public access to adverse event reports under the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022 (MoCRA).

In 2025 alone, over 2,300 reports have been submitted, inclusive of more than 2,100 expedited reports. This indicates an active industry engagement with the new reporting pathways. Since 2014, over 17,000 direct reports have been recorded, with nearly 50,000 classified as “Pre-MoCRA” data.

“Americans are rightfully demanding greater insight into the safety and regulation of the cosmetic products they use every day,” stated FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, M.D., M.P.H. “This real-time dashboard is a significant step in our efforts to provide greater transparency and allow the public to help identify potential data signals.”

This initiative signifies the most substantial expansion of FDA authority over cosmetics since 1938, thereby ensuring the safety of products used by millions of consumers daily.
