Qatar’s Cruise Sector Flourishes: Highlights from the European Industry Summit
Qatar Tourism highlighted the impressive expansion of the nation’s cruise sector at the Seatrade Cruise Europe 2025 in Hamburg, held from September 10-12. This event helped position Qatar as a rising star in the global cruise industry.
The Visit Qatar pavilion served as a hub for collaboration, bringing together key government entities such as the Ministry of Interior, Mwani Qatar, and the General Authority of Customs. It also included leading representatives from the private sector. An exclusive networking event was hosted by Qatar Tourism at the Vier Jahreszeiten Hamburg Hotel, attended by over 150 distinguished guests. These included representatives from major cruise lines such as MSC, Royal Caribbean, TUI, Viking Cruises, and Silversea.
Preparations are underway for the 2025/2026 cruise season, set to begin in November. With 73 scheduled cruise calls, this season will showcase significant growth in Qatar’s position as a preferred cruise destination. The summit provided a platform to strengthen industry connections and highlight Qatar’s authentic hospitality and cultural experiences to international cruise operators.
Qatar’s participation included strategic one-on-one meetings with leading cruise operators and site visits to Hamburg’s cruise facilities for operational insights. The delegation also attended a networking lunch hosted by TUI Cruises, fostering further partnerships within the cruise industry ecosystem.
This initiative underscores Qatar’s commitment to diversifying its tourism offerings and establishing itself as a significant player in the Middle East cruise market. This is achieved by leveraging its strategic location and world-class infrastructure.
