Itinerary Changes for Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas Due to Tropical Storm Mario
Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas has adjusted its current itinerary to sidestep Tropical Storm Mario, which is currently impacting the Mexican Pacific coast. Instead of its original plan to depart Cabo San Lucas on September 15, 2025, the cruise ship will now spend two additional days at sea before docking in Ensenada, Mexico for an overnight visit.
The National Hurricane Center has characterized Tropical Storm Mario as a “tiny” storm with sustained winds of 40 mph. However, the storm is projected to intensify in the coming days. The storm’s winds could potentially extend up to 25 miles north of the storm’s center, leading the cruise line to implement precautionary measures.
The updated itinerary allows Ovation of the Seas to avoid the storm’s path while still providing passengers with a memorable port experience in Mexico. This exemplifies the cruise industry’s dedication to passenger safety, even while ensuring enjoyable vacation experiences during weather-related challenges.
