Embraer E190F Freighter Makes Its Debut with Bridges Air Cargo
Bridges Air Cargo has proudly taken delivery of the world’s first Embraer E190F converted freighter, marking a significant milestone in regional aviation cargo operations. As the launch customer for Embraer’s innovative passenger-to-freight (P2F) conversion program, the Malta-based carrier is set to fill a crucial void in the air cargo market.
The aircraft, registered as 9H-BRD, was initially built in 2010 and converted under the visionary P2F program by Embraer. The E190F boasts a payload capacity of 10.7 tonnes and offers 40% more volume capacity than large cargo turboprops. It also provides three times the range and up to 30% lower operating costs compared to larger narrowbody freighters.
“It’s fitting that Bridges becomes the launch customer for the E-Freighter as we celebrate 35 years of operations and over a billion kilograms moved for the express market,” said Guy Bridges, Managing Director.
As part of its expansion strategy to become Malta’s premier air cargo carrier, the company partners with major logistics providers including FedEx, DHL, and UPS. Bridges Air Cargo expects to receive a second E190F soon.
