Windows 11 August 2025 Update: Microsoft Introduces AI-Driven Features

Microsoft has announced the roll-out of its August 2025 Security Update for Windows 11 version 24H2. Scheduled for August 12, this update introduces eight significant new features, all centered around the integration of artificial intelligence.

The update enhances the Windows Recall capabilities, now offering users the ability to export data and completely reset the feature. Additionally, it introduces new AI actions for the ‘Click to Do’ feature and integrates Microsoft Teams.

The standout feature is a new AI agent for the Settings app. This allows users to find settings and resolve configuration issues using natural language. For instance, if a user types “my mouse pointer is too small”, the AI will suggest increasing the pointer size and provide an “Apply” button for instant changes.

Other improvements include a redesigned Search settings page and a new gamepad keyboard layout with PIN sign-in support.

These AI features are exclusively available on Copilot+ PCs. These are equipped with Neural Processing Units capable of 40+ TOPS, found on Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus and X Elite processors, as well as specific Intel and AMD chips. To access the AI functionality, users must also enable BitLocker and Windows Hello.

This update represents Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to deeply integrating artificial intelligence into the Windows operating system.
