Jeppesen ForeFlight Introduces AI ‘Airflow’ Agents for Advanced Aviation Operations
Jeppesen ForeFlight has recently launched its innovative Airflow™ Aviation Operating Intelligence platform. This marks the introduction of the first in a series of hundreds of AI agents. These agents are set to revolutionize the way airlines and aviation operators handle intricate flight operations.
The announcement was made on October 6, 2026, during the company’s annual commercial aviation users conference in Paris. The Airflow platform presents three initial AI agents aimed at addressing major operational challenges: crew trip trading, flight pairing and roster planning, and disruption recovery. An essential tool, Augmented Ops Control, assists airline operations controllers in swiftly evaluating their options when flights deviate from schedule. It converts operator objectives into executable plans with minimal manual intervention.
What distinguishes Airflow is its dedication to certified, reliable data. The platform leverages more than 90 years of aviation expertise and insights from over 60 million flights annually that depend on Jeppesen ForeFlight products. Unlike conventional AI tools, the agents reason based on a foundation of certified aviation data, including nav data, charts, weather, NOTAMs, and flight history, while keeping humans at the core of decision-making.
Jeppesen ForeFlight aims to extend Airflow agents to business and military aviation customers in the near future. A wider commercial rollout is planned for early 2027. Airlines interested in co-developing this technology are currently being invited to collaborate with the company.
