Jeppesen ForeFlight Introduces Groundbreaking AI Agents for Aviation Operations
Jeppesen ForeFlight has launched the pioneering wave of artificial intelligence agents for its Airflow™ platform, marking a significant advancement in the integration of agentic AI into aviation operations. This announcement, made on October 6, 2026, in Paris, signifies Jeppesen ForeFlight’s commitment to deploying hundreds of planned AI agents across the commercial, business, and military aviation sectors.
The initial release emphasizes three crucial tools for airline operations:
- Trip Trading: Assists crews in exchanging flight assignments.
- Target Mastery: Helps planners construct optimized crew schedules based on factors such as cost, fatigue, and reserve coverage.
- Augmented Ops Control: Evaluates and ranks potential responses when disruptions occur with aircraft or crew. All agents provide recommendations with transparent reasoning, while human operators retain responsibility for final decisions.
The Airflow™ platform, as described by Jeppesen ForeFlight, reasons through operational cause-and-effect rather than simple pattern matching. It draws on more than 90 years of aviation expertise and insights from over 60 million flights that rely on the company’s products annually. Customers have the flexibility to use Jeppesen ForeFlight’s native agents, integrate third-party tools, or create their own, maintaining full control over their data sovereignty and automation levels.
Additional agents targeting the business aviation and defense segments are anticipated to be launched soon. The company is already in the process of seeking commercial aviation co-development partners.
