Carnival Corporation Sets New Record with $1.9B Q3 Net Income
Carnival Corporation (NYSE: CCL) has achieved a milestone in its financial performance, reporting an unprecedented net income of $1.9 billion. The adjusted net income even touched the $2.0 billion mark for the third quarter of 2026. The results, which were announced on September 29, 2026, exceeded the company’s own guidance by over $100 million. This marks the most robust quarter in the history of this cruise giant.
Revenue and net yields (in constant currency) also reached record levels, reflecting the company’s “continued demand strength.” Yields saw an increase of nearly 2.5% year-over-year, fueled by robust close-in demand and increased onboard spending. Notably, customer deposits hit a record $7.6 billion, a 7% increase from the previous year, indicating a significant forward momentum as we move into 2027.
Moreover, Carnival demonstrated its commitment to cost discipline. Fuel consumption per available lower berth day saw a nearly 4% drop year-over-year, helping to counterbalance a $150 million fuel price headwind. The company has already repurchased approximately $1.2 billion in shares this year and has managed to reduce total debt to less than $24 billion, a significant decrease from a $36 billion peak in 2023.
Looking ahead, Carnival’s private destination, Celebration Key, welcomed nearly 2.5 million guests in its first year. It is projected to host approximately 3.5 million visitors in 2027.
