Meta’s Muse AI Agent: A New Era of Devices and Features

Meta is intensifying its focus on its innovative AI agent strategy. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO, used the company’s annual Connect 2026 event on September 23rd to announce a comprehensive expansion of Muse. This personal AI agent, which launched in early September, is powered by Meta’s proprietary Muse Spark multimodal AI model. Muse is designed to do more than just chat. It can book appointments, manage online shopping, handle emails and calendars, and perform complex multi-step tasks on behalf of the user within a secure, sandboxed virtual machine.

Zuckerberg announced at Connect 2026 that Muse would be integrated into Meta’s AI-powered smart glasses. These include brands like Ray-Ban, Oakley, and Meta Glasses, with over 100 styles expected to be available by the end of the year. A new physical companion device, the Muse Charm, was also unveiled at the event. Early reports suggest that Muse is outperforming initial ChatGPT user adoption figures, indicating a positive consumer response.

Meta offers Muse on a three-tier pricing model: a free tier (up to 100 million tokens per week), a Power plan at $20/month, and a Maximum plan at $100/month. This is Meta’s first direct consumer AI monetization strategy, marking a significant strategic shift for a company that has historically relied almost entirely on advertising revenue.
