EAA Unveils 2026–2027 SportAir Workshop Schedule for Aviation Enthusiasts Nationwide
The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) has officially unveiled its 2026–2027 SportAir Workshop schedule. This exciting announcement offers aviation enthusiasts across the United States the unique opportunity to engage in hands-on aircraft building and restoration through a series of intensive, expert-led weekend sessions.
SportAir Workshops are immersive two-day, in-person events held at various locations around the country, including EAA’s headquarters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. These workshops cover a comprehensive range of subjects associated with building Experimental Amateur-Built (E-AB) aircraft, including:
- Sheet metal work
- Gas welding
- Fabric covering
- Fiberglass construction
- Electrical systems and avionics
For over a quarter of a century, these workshops have empowered homebuilders with the technical instruction and confidence needed to bring their aircraft projects to life.
The workshops are open to anyone with a passion for aircraft building — no EAA membership is required to attend. EAA members, however, do receive a substantial discount on course fees. Classes are intentionally kept small to ensure instructors can dedicate ample time to each participant’s individual needs. As a result, sessions often fill up quickly once the schedule is announced. An online format is also available for those unable to attend in person.
With a growing pilot shortage and a resurgence of public interest in homebuilt aviation, EAA’s SportAir workshops continue to serve as an essential gateway for the next generation of builders and pilots. Interested participants are encouraged to register early to secure their spot.
