EAA Unveils 2026-2027 SportAir Workshop Schedule for Nationwide Aviation Enthusiasts
The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) has unveiled its comprehensive 2026–2027 SportAir Workshop schedule. This initiative offers aviation enthusiasts across the United States an opportunity for hands-on training in aircraft building and restoration. The announcement, made on September 26, 2026, marks another year of EAA’s popular grassroots aviation education initiative.
SportAir Workshops are intensive two-day weekend events that encompass a broad spectrum of subjects pertinent to building Experimental Amateur Built (E-AB) aircraft. These subjects include sheet metal fabrication, composite construction, gas welding, fabric covering, electrical systems, avionics, and more. Classes are hosted at EAA’s facility in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, as well as at rotating locations nationwide, ensuring accessibility to builders in various regions.
Open to anyone with an interest in homebuilt aviation, these workshops do not require EAA membership, although members do receive a discount on registration fees. Attendance is deliberately limited to ensure each participant receives personalized attention from instructors. With over 25 years in operation, SportAir Workshops have assisted thousands of aviation enthusiasts in developing the skills and confidence to complete their own aircraft builds.
