Nvidia’s $1.5B Server Farm in Israel: The Largest Tech Infrastructure Investment Outside US

AI chip titan, Nvidia, is set to make an unprecedented technology infrastructure investment in Israel. The company plans to construct a $1.5 billion server farm in the Mevo Carmel industrial zone, near Yokneam, in northern Israel. This news, initially reported by the Israeli outlet Calcalist, indicates Nvidia’s ongoing robust global expansion of its AI computing infrastructure, despite the current geopolitical considerations in the region.

The colossal new facility will cover approximately 30,000 square meters and utilize around 64 megawatts of electricity. This makes it one of the most energy-intensive data centers in the country, consuming more than twice the power of Nvidia’s existing Israel-1 supercomputer facility. The latter currently ranks 34th on the global Top500 supercomputers list.

The site will accommodate Nvidia’s next-generation Blackwell processors and a new supercomputer that outperforms the capabilities of Israel-1. In addition to server hosting, the facility will feature dedicated R&D labs and offices solely for Nvidia’s internal use.

This project further solidifies Israel’s position as Nvidia’s second-largest R&D hub outside the United States. The company already has more than 5,000 employees based across multiple facilities in the country. Alongside the nearby Kiryat Tivon campus, the new site is anticipated to transform northern Israel into a major global AI technology hub. Nvidia currently holds the title of the world’s most valuable publicly traded company, with a market capitalization of approximately $4.3 trillion.
