Nvidia CEO Forecasts a Doubling of Chip Sales by 2027
Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang has made a bold prediction, forecasting that the semiconductor giant’s chip sales will double by 2027. This announcement was made during a high-profile AI summit hosted by King Charles III in Scotland on September 17, 2026.
Huang attributes this anticipated growth to the increasing investment in AI across various industries and countries. “AI has so much contribution to the benefits of different industries, different economies, and you can see that in almost every single country that we’re in, people want to invest in AI,” Huang explained to reporters at the summit.
Following the announcement, Nvidia shares saw a rise of approximately 2.54% to $219.34. This optimistic forecast is supported by the company’s next-generation Vera Rubin platform, which has entered full production for fall 2026 shipping. The platform is projected to generate a $40 billion per-gigawatt revenue opportunity, significantly outpacing the Blackwell platform’s $25 billion figure.
Analysts have revised their consensus EPS for fiscal 2028 upward from $13 to $16 in just 90 days, with 39 upward revisions and zero cuts. Nvidia does not publicly disclose chip unit sales, but previously stated it expects roughly 70% revenue growth in fiscal 2028, amounting to approximately $673 billion in revenue.
